At our site in Baja, Mexico, just a few hours south of San Diego, steep rocky cliffs combine with ocean swell to create a kayaker's wonderland of immense beauty and heart-pounding adrenaline. Being small and maneuverable, kayaks are perfectly suited for intimate exploration of the coast. We'll paddle through narrow slots and towering caves, poke our kayaks into crevices and blow holes, and explore the haunts of seals and sea lions. No one else explores the coastline quite like this! Join us for one of the most unique kayaking trips anywhere!
Our Baja Sea Caves and Rock Garden kayak trip is the perfect weekend getaway! We'll car camp at an undeveloped site on bluffs overlooking a dramatic seascape, and explore a stretch of coastline containing over 20 sea caves and numerous mild to wild rock garden play spots! This trip truely has something to offer everyone. You will receive expert instruction and feast on hearty delicious meals prepared for you each day. No paddling experience is required, but you will get more from this trip if you have had some previous instruction. If you want to gain some experience beforehand, our introductory kayaking classes are held 2-3 times a month during the spring and summer. Our exact itinerary must remain flexible due to variable weather and ocean conditions.
Day 1: 8:00 am: Meet at Aqua Adventures (1548 Quivera Way, San Diego, CA 92109) to caravan approximately 2 1/2 hours to the location. Limited transportation may be available in our truck for $35/person. Once at our site, we'll set up camp, eat lunch, and get ready to hit the water! After a full afternoon of paddling instruction and coastal exploration, we'll return to camp where you can hike or just unwind and enjoy a stunning sunset while dinner is prepared for you.
Day 2: We will paddle along the coast and explore a wide variety of sea caves and rock garden play spots. We'll have two paddling sessions - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Two-day trips break camp in the afternoon and head home at about 3 or 4 pm. Three-day trips enjoy another beautiful Pacific sunset and another great meal.
Day 3: We'll finish with a final paddling session in the morning. After lunch, we'll break camp and head home.
