Kayaking among the famous La Jolla sea caves is an exciting adventure! The caves are situated in one of the most beautiful settings in San Diego with the cliffs of Torrey Pines State Park and picturesque La Jolla as backdrops. As an underwater marine preserve, wildlife abounds and sightings of seals, sea lions, dolphins, cormorants, pelicans, garibaldi, and gentle leopard sharks are common! Gentle waves at our launch site and a bit of swell swirling through the sea caves provide lots of opportunities to play in our kayaks! Best of all, you don't need any experience to join us! In fact, hundreds of people have gotten hooked on kayaking on this tour!

Please note that from a kayak, the combination of ocean swell and rocks is potentially extremely dangerous in certain conditions. FOR YOUR SAFETY we cannot guarantee cave exploration. Aqua Adventures is the most safety-conscience outfitter guiding trips here. Our guides are the most highly trained and experienced and for your safety, we require you to wear PFD's and helmets. After a brief discussion of the surf zone and ocean conditions, we'll launch and paddle to the sea caves. On the way, you'll receive instruction from your guides on the techniques you'll need to safely navigate the cave formations!

When we've finished exploring the caves, we'll have some time to surf our kayaks in gentle waves back at the beach. In cooler weather, wetsuits are recommended and are available to rent from Aqua Adventures for $5. Our exact itinerary must remain flexible due to variable weather and ocean conditions.
