This 2 hour kayaking tour is a great introduction to kayaking as well as a scenic tour of one of San Diego's most beautiful playgrounds!
Highlights of Mission Bay by kayak include California sea lion sightings, numerous bird species, white sandy beaches, and a view of Sea World that few people get to see! Your knowledgeable guides will share the facinating natural and human history of the area. No experience is necessary to join us and you'll receive basic kayak instruction before launching.
To explore Mission Bay on your own, we offer kayak rental right at our docks. We have easy-to-use sit-on-top kayaks for beginners, high performance sea kayaks for experienced paddlers, and everything in between. Minimum age is 6 yrs. Children under 8 yrs must be in a tandem kayak paddled by an adult. Minimum size is 50 lbs to fit our life jackets. Parents may provide their own appropriate life jacket for children under 50 lbs.
We'll meet at Aqua Adventures and launch our kayaks from our docks. Depending on wind, weather, and whims, we'll explore some portion of Mission Bay's 2500 acres of water! We'll pass by a bait barge covered with a variety of bird species and frequented by sea lions! During cooler weather, wetsuits or windbreakers may be appropriate and these are available to rent from Aqua Adventures Kayak Center for $5.
