Summer is here. It’s warming up, and the days are longer. The bay is calm and beautiful. So come on out and let’s paddle. Watch a beautiful sunset.
No kayak? We’ll be meeting at Aqua Adventures. For this event, $15 will rent you a kayak, paddle, and PFD (personal flotation device).
Beginners are welcome.
You are responsible to bring your own light (flashlight, headlamp, or boat light). You should also wear appropriate clothing. Recommended clothing is made of synthetic fiber. That would be polyester, nylon, spandex, or wool. Cotton is strongly discouraged. When cotton gets wet it can rob your body of heat, and has the potential to put you at risk for hypothermia.
If you bring your own kayak and gear, this is free.
Let’s try to meet around 5:30 so that we can be ready to head out at 6:00. The round trip should be approximately 4 miles. We’ll be moving at an easy pace somewhere between 2 to 3 mph.
This is a social event. The San Diego Kayaking Meetup is not a professional organization. Kayaking is a water sport. Like all water sports, kayaking involves risk. We will be looking out for each other, but you are responsible for your own safety. Hope to see you there!
