Wednesday Night Meetup Social Paddle
The San Diego Kayaking meetup group is a 2000+ member group comprised of paddlers of every skill level. It’s a great way to meet other Paddlers, get a little excercise and fresh air and enjoy nature as it can be seen from the water.
Are you new to kayaking, and always wanted to try it? Or are you experienced, and looking for some people to go touring with?Come join us for a quick escape from it all without leaving the city. Out on the bay, the evenings are calm, quiet, and beautiful. Kayaking is healthy exercise but it’s relaxing too.
If you bring your own kayak and gear, this event is free.
No kayak? For this event, $15 CASH will rent you a kayak, paddle, and PFD (personal flotation device).
Please Note: You are responsible to bring your own light (flashlight, headlamp, or boat light).
You should also wear appropriate clothing. Recommended clothing is made of synthetic fiber. That would be polyester, nylon, spandex, or wool. Cotton is strongly discouraged. When cotton gets wet it can rob your body of heat, and has the potential to put you at risk for hypothermia.
Please meet around 5:30 so that we can be ready to head out at 6:00pm.
The round trip should be approximately 4 miles. We’ll be moving at an easy pace somewhere between 2 to 3 mph.
This is a social event. The San Diego Kayaking Meetup is not a professional organization. Kayaking is a water sport. Like all water sports, kayaking involves risk. We will be looking out for each other, but you are responsible for your own safety.
Kayakers of all levels are welcome!
